ARTIFACT: 1890's Curran & Joyce porcelain top embossed beer or soda bottle from Lawrence, Massachusetts. The front of the bottle reads: "REGISTERED CURRAN & JOYCE COMPANY LAWRENCE, MASS." in embossed lettering and features an embossed company logo in the center. The porcelain Hutter Type stopper reads: "CURRAN & JOYCE CO. LAWRENCE, MASS." and the underside: "PAT'D HUTTER FEB. 7 1893". The Curran and Joyce Company was founded in 1877 and the company was the only representative in Lawrence for the Harvard Brewing Co. In addition to this, Curran & Joyce Co. also enjoyed favorable ties with many of the largest vineyards and distilleries in the United States. The main focus of the bottling company was the distribution of sodas, mainly ginger ale, soda waters, and tonics.

SIZE: Approximately 10" x 2 ½" diameter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Glass, porcelain, steel

ATTACHMENT: Lightening steel closure with Hutter Style porcelain topper

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The bottle shows moderate age wear, mostly to Lightening closure which shows heavy oxidation, overall the bottle is in very fine condition.
