14 Karat Gold Circa 1910 Unit Crest for 23rd Infantry New York National Guard

ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1910 unit crest for the 23rd Infantry New York National Guard. The crest is a white cross which at center reads NG VIGILANTIA NY 23 and there is a pendant shield beneath.

VINTAGE: Circa 1910.

SIZE: 1" in height x 5/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS: 14K Gold with red, white and blue enameling and red cloth background inserted behind the 23.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with tubular "C" catch.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine - Excellent): Crest shows some small spots of wear on white enamel and has a beautiful luster.
