This is an ashtray from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for the United States Navy's USS Plunger (SS-179). The Plunger was launched in 1936 and saw twenty years of service with the Navy.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 5-7/16" diameter and 1-1/16" thickness.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Monel or nickel-plated brass with painted lettering.
ATTACHMENT:None.
MARKINGS:None.

CONDITION:7- (Very Fine-): The ashtray has some small spots of moderate wear and discoloration and the painted lettering is mostly worn away.
