WWII Submarine USS Finback (SS-230) Model from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard

This is a submarine model of the USS Finback from the Portsmouth (New Hampshire) Naval Shipyard. The Finback had thirteen victories during her career with the US Navy and is noted for rescuing George Herbert Walker Bush, who was a naval aviator shot down in 1944.

Circa World War II.

Approximately 1-5/8" height and 7-1/4" width and 1-13/16" diameter at base.

Nickel-plated brass with painted lettering.
