Great 1930's USS Plunger, SS-179 submarine model from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
The base of the model reads: "U.S.S. PLUNGER N.Y. PORTSMOUTH, N.H.".
The Plunger was launched in 1936 and saw twenty years of service with the Navy.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1930's.
SIZE:Approximately 7-1/2" in length x 2-1/4" in height; Base: 1-7/8" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Chrome plated brass, black painted details.
ATTACHMENT:Screw-fastened base.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The sub model shows moderate wear and patina, adhesive remnants on bottom, much of the chrome plated details remain, overall very fine condition.
