ARTIFACT:

This is a sterling silver distinctive unit insignia for the United States Army Lawson General Hospital MEDDAC in Atlanta, Georgia on land that is now part of DeKalb-Peachtree Airport (KPDK) in the suburb of Chamblee. This insignia shows a cross with a star on each end and reads CORONA VENIET DELECTIS (Victory Shall Come to the Worthy).

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

1-1/8" height and 1-1/8" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Sterling silver with red enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

STERLING.
