ARTIFACT:
This is a World War II overseas unit history for the United States Army 973rd Engineer Maintenance Company, a part of the IX Engineer Command. The 973rd, along with the 471st and 475th Engineer Maintenance Company, was responsible for maintaining airfield construction machinery. The book belonged to W.R. Seiler (pictured above at left), and is largely a collection of photos with a large fold-out map of the 973rd travels at the end.
VINTAGE:
Circa World War II (no publication date listed).
SIZE:
224 pages including black and white photographs, plus one large fold-out map and several blank pages at end; approximately 6" in height and 8-1/4" in width and 3/4" in thickness.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Embossed cloth-bound cover, paper.
ATTACHMENT:
Glued binding.

Printed by J.C. Herbert'sche Buchdruckerei and Druckerei Ph.Reinheimer Bookbinderwork of E. Rehbein all together in Darmstadt, Germany (on last page).

CONDITION:
7 (Very Fine): The book has some light wear to the edges of the cover and part of the map has a tear; otherwise it is in very good condition.
