ARTIFACT:

This is a beautiful World War II submarine-shaped letter opener made at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (in Portsmouth, NH/Kittery, ME). The chrome-plated brass opener has a conning tower and is somewhat three-dimensional.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 8-5/16" in length and 13/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Chrome-plated brass.
