Description
This is a World War II launch tag for the USS Sea Robin (SS-407), launched from the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard on May 25, 194Her first war patrol began with receiving shelling that luckily fell short of its mark, initiated by a Scandinavian vessel that confused the Sea Robin with a German U-boat. Sea Robin received three battle stars for her World War II service.
VINTAGE:Circa 1944.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/16 in height (excluding 3-5/8" of string) and 1-3/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Foiled card stock with silk string.
ATTACHMENT:Punched hole with string.
