This is a World War II submarine launch tag for the USS Scabbardfish SS-397, launched January 27, 1944 at Portsmouth (NH) Naval Shipyard. Scabbardfish received five battle stars for World War II service in five war patrols.
VINTAGE:Circa 1944.
SIZE:About 1-3/4 in width by 2-1/8" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Foiled card stock.
ATTACHMENT:Silk string.
MARKINGS:None.
