Description
This is a World War II launch tag for the USS Parche SS-384, which departed from Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard on July 24, 194Parche received five battle stars and two Presidential Unit Citation awards for her service during six World War II war patrols, even despite her longest war patrol yielding no nearby targets. Parche was used as a target after the war at the Bikini Atoll and survived largely unscathed.
VINTAGE:Circa 1943.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/16 in height (excluding 3-5/8" of string) and 1-3/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Foiled card stock with silk string.
ATTACHMENT:Punched hole with string.
