WWII Submarine Launch Tag for the USS Archerfish SS-311

This is a World War II launching tag for the USS Archerfish SS-31The ship was launched from Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard on May 28, 1943 and in November of the following year single-handedly sunk the Shinano - the largest warship ever to be destroyed by a submarine.

Circa 1943.

Approximately 2-1/16 in height (excluding 3-5/8" of string) and 1-3/4" in width.

Foiled card stock with silk string.

Punched hole with string.
