ARTIFACT: This is World War I United States son-in-service lapel button. The button is in 14 karat gold and enamel, and shows a single blue star at the center of a red-bordered rectangle.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 5/16" in height and 13/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: 14 karat gold and enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Lapel stud.

MARKINGS: R maker's mark, 14K.
