ARTIFACT:

This is a World War I United States Army Rock Island Arsenal police badge. Now a national historic landmark, Rock Island Arsenal on the Mississippi River between Iowa and Illinois is America's largest government-owned manufacturer of weaponry. 

The badge reads ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 228 POLICE.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War I.

SIZE:

2-3/8" height and 1-11/16" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Silver-plated Steel with painted letters.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical kick pin with "C" catch.
