This is a World War I United States volunteer badge lapel stud. The badge is oval with a ship at center and reads U.S SHIPYARD VOLUNTEER.

Circa World War I.

Approximately 13/16" in height and 1-1/4" in width.

Bronze.

Lapel stud.

WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK NJ on backing and union stamp on reverse of badge.
