Description
This is a World War I United Kingdom Service medal and Victory medal mounted together and engraved to Captain E. M. Cartmer. The Service medal shows the bust of King George V on the front and reads GEORGIUS V BRITT. OMN: REX ET IND: IMP:. The reverse of the medal shows a man on horseback riding over a battlefield and reads 1914 191The Victory medal shows winged Victory on the front and reads THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILISATION 1914-1919 on reverse.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:3" height and 2-3/4" width
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Bronze and gold-plated brass with silk ribbons.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with "C" catch.
MARKINGS:CAPT. E. M. CARTMER engraved on bottom edge of each medal.
