ARTIFACT: This is a pair of World War I trench mortar patches of Lieutenant William A. Laine, Ordnance Department, United States Army. The patches are in beautiful bullion with coppery finish embroidered upon bright red wool felt. Laine's collapsible drinking cup in its original case accompanies the patches.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Patches: approximately 2-1/8" by 1-1/8" (each); cup case: approximately 2-5/8" by 2-3/4" by 1-1/4" (when closed).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Patches: bullion on wool felt, cloth backing; aluminum drinking cup in canvas bag.

ATTACHMENT: ATTACHMENTS:Snap on cup case; collapsible cup.

MARKINGS: W.A. LAINE written and WILLIAM A. LAINE LT. ORD. DEPT. stamped twice on on cup case; W. A. LAINE 0-1553242 on bottom of cup.

CONDITION: 7+ (Overall Very Fine+): The items are overall in very fine condition; cup case has some moderate wear along its edges and the snap is rusty.
