ARTIFACT: This is a World War I Imperial German cheroot (cigarette predecessor) case with a 1916 Iron Cross at its center. The words on the ring wreathed in oak leaves translate to STRENGTH AND MILIARY FORCE FOR RIGHT AND HONOR. The case is made of iron and has a leather strap across each half on the interior.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 3-1/4" in height and 3-1/2" in width and 5/8" in depth.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Iron, leather, plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Hinge, locking catch, leather straps.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The case has some moderate wear and a heavy tarnish.
