Description
Beautiful WWI Imperial German Patriotic Aviation Pin with an eagle grasping an enameled Iron Cross in its talons. A tiny crown and letter 'W' are depicted on the dangling Iron Cross. There is a strong conjecture that this example was worn by Poles in WWI, in this case it would be a Pole fighting for the Germans. The eagle has exquisite detail in the feathers of its wings and body, it is practically 3D!
