Description
This is a French Croix de Guerre (Cross of War) medal with palm leaf and two stars in the 1914-1918 style. This medal was given in France and Belgium for heroic acts in the course of service. It is a cross with crossed swords and a woman's head at center and reads REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE. The ribbon shows a repeating thick green and narrow red stripe to denote World War I service and has an award ceremony pin-back.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Bronze, gilt and plated brass, silk ribbon.
ATTACHMENT:Pin, suspension loop.
