ARTIFACT: This is a French Croix de Guerre (Cross of War) medal with palm leaf and two stars in the 1914-1918 style. This medal was given in France and Belgium for heroic acts in the course of service. It is a cross with crossed swords and a woman's head at center and reads REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE. The ribbon shows a repeating thick green and narrow red stripe to denote World War I service and has an award ceremony pin-back.

VINTAGE: Circa 1914-1918 (World War I).

SIZE: Approximately 3-7/8" x 1-3/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Bronze, gilt and plated brass, silk ribbon.

ATTACHMENT: Pin, suspension loop.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWI French military medal collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MDJX13 LADEX11/13 SMACJX08/28/19

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The medal shows very little wear.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
