Description
This is a French Croix de Guerre (Cross of War) medal with palm leaf in the 1914-1918 type. This medal was given in France and Belgium for heroic acts in the course of service. It is a cross with crossed swords and a woman's head at center and reads REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE. The ribbon shows a repeating thick green and narrow red stripe to denote World War I service and has an award ceremony pin-back. This medal is in the dark ribbon variation.

SIZE:Approximately 3-3/4" in height and 1-7/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Bronze, silk.
