Description
This is a World War I - early 1920s leather pilot helmet with goggles. The helmet may have been worn by an Army, Navy or civilian pilot. It has a flap on either side with a snap to secure the goggle strap.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I - early 1920s.
SIZE:Approximately size 7.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Helmet: leather, cotton lining, metal snaps and hook; goggles: glass, nickel-plated brass, leather, mesh netting, cotton herringbone strap, wool lining.
ATTACHMENT:Chin strap (partially missing), snap closures, goggle strap with sliding loops.
MARKINGS:DVB MADE IN FRANCE on snap inside helmet.

CONDITION:6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The helmet is moderately worn, especially on the crown, with part of the chin strap missing; the goggles have moderate wear along edges with foggy spots on lenses.
