Wonderful WWI US Air Service 3rd Balloon Co. Trench Art Ashtray with 3-D Balloon

This is a wonderful World War I United States Air Service 3rd Balloon Company trench art ashtray with a three-dimensional stationary balloon! The balloon is hovering over the Prussian Seal "Got Mit Uns" (God with us). The balloon is quite detailed, with a 3 on its front, and the tray base is nicely fluted with an embossed seal. It is extremely rare to find a Balloon Company-themed item designated as trench art!

Circa World War I.
