ARTIFACT:

This is a Wonderful 2nd half 19th Century Imperial Prussian Non-combatant Medal Bar of Famous German Artist Emil von Ernst From the Family Descendents.

*Gott War Mit Uns Franco Prussian War 1870 and 1871 Medal

The War Commemorative Medal of 1870-1871 (German: Kriegsdenkmunze fur die Feldzuge 1870-1871) is a campagian medal presented by Kaiser William I in his capacity as King of Prussia. The medal was presented to commemorate service in the Franco Prussian War. The medal was presented to members of the united German armies. The medal was presented for combat service in bronze, and non-combat service in steel. Each version bore minor differences in inscription and design. Clasps were authorized on the 25th anniversary of the German victory, to commemorate selected battles.

Approximately 5-1/8" in height x 5-1/8" in width. Medals: VOM FELS ZUM MEER 2-3/4" in total height & 1-3/16" in diameter Medal. PREUSSENS SIEGREICHEM HEERE 2-7/8" in total height & 1-3/8" x 1-3/8" Medal. GOTT WAR MIT UNS 2-3/4" in total height & 1-1" in diameter medal. White enameled medal 2-3/4" in total height & 1-1/2" x 1-1/2".

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Silver, Bronze, Brass, Silk and enameled silver & gold.

CONDITION:

8+ (Excellent): Medals were attached to cardboard with the wire by Family Descendents for a long time, and all of them show minor wear by storage. Ribbon is nice and clean, Overall, it is in excellent condition.
