Description
Belgian WWII Prisoner of War (POW) Service Medal. The planchet shows a sword in the center of a Maltese cross with the years "1940" and "1945" on either side in embossed detail. The ribbon is black with yellow and red stripes and shows one bar which represents one year in captivity. The suspension ring is in the shape of a nicely detailed Royal crown. The reverse shows a guard's watchtower surrounded by barbed wire and encircled with a chain and lock.
