ARTIFACT: Belgian WWII Prisoner of War (POW) Service Medal. The planchet shows a sword in the center of a Maltese cross with the years "1940" and "1945" on either side in embossed detail. The ribbon is black with yellow and red stripes and shows one bar which represents one year in captivity. The suspension ring is in the shape of a nicely detailed Royal crown. The reverse shows a guard's watchtower surrounded by barbed wire and encircled with a chain and lock.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: Approximately 4" x 1-1/2"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Brass, silk ribbon

ATTACHMENT: None. Pin missing.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWII POW collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-EDK-25-15 LFEX11/15

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The medal shows minor to moderate wear, small spot of adhesive residue on reverse, pin is missing, overall very fine condition.
