ARTIFACT:
Wonderful late 19th century German medical student skull stein by Saxony maker Potschappel. The lidded stein is beautifully sculpted and intricately painted with contour and shadowing details showing high-gloss glaze accents on the teeth. The right side of the reverse of the skull reads: "_0, 5 L. along the top. The lid is fashioned out of pewter and stone and the base of the stein shows a makers mark painted in green.
