ARTIFACT:

This is an early (circa 1945) membership lapel pin for the Instrument Society of America (ISA). Founded in 1945, the ISA strove to set industry standards and disperse information about the growing of post-war industrial instruments. The pin shows the group's first logo: a small gauge. It is by Standard of Pittsburgh.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1945.

SIZE:

Approximately 1/2" in height and 1/2" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS:

STANDARD PITTSBURGH.

CONDITION:

8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The pin shows only light wear and tarnish; there is a small spot of oxidation on the backing.
