Description
This is a very rare World War I United States Air Service pilot helmet in olive green wool with great stitching and details, including ear flaps. It has a nice locking chin strap with a unique buckle. There is a San Antonio, Texas maker label sewn inside the twill lining.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:Approximately 14-1/2" in height (from top to where wool meets cotton strap) and 10" width (when laid flat folded in half).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool, twill lining, leather liner, cotton strap, plated brass buckle.
ATTACHMENT:Chin strap with locking clasp-style buckle.
MARKINGS:The Wolff & Marx Company San Antonio Texas label.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The helmet has some spots of light to medium wear, the largest one being near the strap.
