This is a very rare World War I Italian pilot badge in metal as worn by both United States Navy and Air Service pilots in Italy. The badge is an eagle with an Imperial crown above.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:Approximately 1" in height and 2-3/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt, stamped, nickel or brass.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal kick pin with safety-style catch and hook.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The badge shows some light to medium wear and there are a few small areas of oxidation on its front and reverse.
