ARTIFACT:
This is an extremely rare numbered unit badge for the Hadfield-Spears ambulance unit, a voluntary Anglo-French medical unit. The unit, originally known as the 282nd Light Surgical Ambulance Corps of the 4th French Army, operated from February 1940 until when it was forced to turn back before the German onslaught. Escaping to Britain, the group reorganized and in March 1941 and set out to the Middle East to become part of the 1st Free French Division. Hadfield-Spears Mobile Surgical Hospital 3 continued serving until its dissolution in June 1945. Ceci est extrêmement rare insigne d'unité numérotées pour l'unité d'ambulance Hadfield-Spears, un volontaire anglo-française unité médicale. L'unité, à l'origine connu sous le nom l'Ambulance Chirurgical Légère de Corps d'Armée 282, exploité à partir Février 1940 quand il a été forcé de revenir en arrière avant l'attaque allemande.
