Description
This is a very rare French-made shoulder patch for the United States Army 474th Infantry Regiment. The patch is a beautiful scarlet color and is shaped like a spearhead with a Viking ship at center and a scroll above the ship. The shape of the patch and the different symbols on it were chosen to represent the three units which were assimilated into the 474th: the 1st Special Service Forces, the 1st, 3rd and 4th Ranger Battalions and the 99th Infantry Regiment.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:3-1/8" height and 1-3/4" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Twill embroidered in cotton/silk threads.
