ARTIFACT: This is a very rare early 1930s lapel pin for Consolidated Aircraft: it's the only one I've ever seen! The pin is enameled and features a United States Navy seaplane at its center, most likely the P2Y. Consolidated was formed in 1923 and soon gained fame for its production of flying boats (seaplanes). In 1943 the company merged with Vultee Aircraft to form Consolidated-Vultee Aircraft (Convair).

VINTAGE: Circa early 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 5/8" in height and 2-3/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Stick pin.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an aviation company collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VFEX12 LBDEX3/12 TRBDEX4/16

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The pin shows only some light wear and tarnishing.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
