Description

ARTIFACT: Rare 1930’s Bell Aircraft employee lapel pin. Bell was an aircraft manufacturer, founded in 1935, most notable for the Bell X-1, the first supersonic aircraft. The company also provided a variety of fighter aircraft during WWII. The lapel pin is enameled brass and reads: “BELL AIR CRAFT”.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930’s

SIZE: Approximately ¾” x ¼”

CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS: Gilt brass and enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post and stabilizer pin with disc backing.

MARKINGS: “BASTIAN BROS. CO. ROCHESTER, N.Y. MPR - PIU” on disc backing

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The lapel shows light wear, nearly all the gilt and enamel details remain fully intact.
