Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a great enameled lapel pin for Curtiss-Wright Aircraft Corporation from the early 1930s. Curtiss-Wright closed out World War II with the distinction of producing the most aircraft of any other American company. The pin is a petite wing with an orange-red center showing a great minimalistic representation of the nose of an incoming plane.

VINTAGE:

Circa early 1930s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1/4" in height and 15/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gold-plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS:

L.G. BALFOUR CO. on backing.

CONDITION:

8 (Excellent-): The pin shows very light wear only and the backing is somewhat tarnished.
