Very rare, circa 1897-98 British 21st Lancers Tschapka Helmet Plate for an enlisted man. In 1897 they were designated as lancers, becoming the 21st Lancers, and this helmet plate would have been worn in 1898 when they served in the Mahdist War in the Sudan where they earned their battle honors.
