Description
Very nice WWII Japanese Naval Officer dagger with brass hangar. This beautiful example features intricate sakura flower details on the pommel (kashira), guard/hilt (fuchi/tsuba/tsuka/habaki), and scabbard (saya). The handle is a made of genuine ray skin and is coiled with decorative wire and shows a high relief sakura decoration on either side. The scabbard is wooden and covered with shark skin and bears lovely detailed brass embellishments. The dirk also features a knob that locks the blade into the scabbard. The hangar is a brass link chain with two brass hooks. The blade features a light brushed wave-like detail on the edge of the blade.

CONDITION:8+ (Excellent): The dagger/dirk shows minor to moderate wear mostly to the blade, the shark and ray skin details are in remarkable condition, overall beautiful example in excellent condition.
