Description
This is a United States Model 1892 Krag bayonet and scabbard dated 1903 - an early "Banana Wars" example. It is marked 1903 and US on opposite sides of the ricasso. The bayonet comes with a scabbard that has a swiveling belt loop. The blade is in excellent condition, having just had the cosmolene removed. The handle and scabbard are untouched, and would clean up nicely.
VINTAGE:Circa 1903.
SIZE:Overall: approximately 17-1/4" in length and 3-1/2" in width; bayonet only: 16-1/4" blade only: 11-5/8" by 1" (at widest point); scabbard only: 12-5/8".
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Steel, painted steel, wood.
ATTACHMENT:Swiveling belt loop on scabbard.
