Description
This is a circa early 1950s United States Army European Constabulary "Ike" jacket. It is made of greenish-brown olive wool and displays German-made distinctive insignia for the 6th Armored Cavalry Regiment as well as a Constabulary patch. There are also some armored cavalry officer collar discs on the jacket and the breast pocket has a ribbon and a medal with bars for RIFLE and SUB MACHINE GUN competency. It is labeled a Size 40R (please see measurements below).
VINTAGE:Circa World War II era worn in early 1950s.
SIZE:Size 40R: approximately 20" from armpit to armpit; 21-3/4" length from collar to hem (on reverse); 24" from shoulder seam to cuff; 18-1/2" between shoulders.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool, cotton lining, brass buttons, silk/bullion embroidered patch, enameled/plated brass, painted/plated brass, silk-wrapped metal ribbon with cellophane.
ATTACHMENT:Buttons, snap at waistband, adjustable buckle tabs at waistband, tab with loop under lapel; insignia and badge have various attachments.
MARKINGS:40R size label; Dated Jun 9, 1944 Herman O. Oritsky maker tag inside pocket.

CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): The jacket shows only some very light wear and there is some minor oxidation to one DI.
