German-Made DI for US Army 517th Artillery Battalion

This is a German-made distinctive insignia for the United States Army 517th Artillery Battalion. The DI is a red and gold crest showing a lion rearing at top.

Circa World War II era.

1-1/8" height and 5/8" width.

Plated brass with enamel.

Vertical safety-style pin with saddle.
