This is a plume holder for a United States Army shako-style helmet. The design is four tall leaf fronds joined together in a circle with one overlapping leaf in front which resembles a blaze of fire.
VINTAGE:Circa 1870s.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/4" height and 1" width and 7/8" depth.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Brass.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): Holder shows spots of light to medium tarnish and one leaf is slightly bent out at top.
