Description
Rare 1880's The Berkshire Regiment Officer's shako helmet plate. The Royal Berkshire Regiment was an infantry regiment of the line in the British Army, formed in 1881 by the amalgamation of the 49th Regiment of Foot and the 66th Regiment of Foot. The helmet plate reads "HONI.SOIT.QUI.MAL.Y.PENSE" "THE BERKSHIRE REGIMENT".

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt brass.
ATTACHMENT:Three loops.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine - Excellent): Helmet plate is in wonderful condition, some tarnish, most all the red velvet remains intact, as well as a large amount of the gilt brass.
