Description
This is a unique World War II aircraft company worker badge by Whitehead and Hoag of Newark, New Jersey. The badge certifies that the wearer is a Grade A acetylene welder, and is stamped with the "Army-Navy" government inspector's stamp (AN-N211). The original owner of the badge was Charles F. Fisher, and he took his certification test on July 9, 1943.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/4" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel-plated brass, paper, celluloid.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety-style pin.
MARKINGS:AN N-211 (Army-Navy government inspector's stamp); WHITEHEAD-HOAG on reverse.
