This is a theatre-made distinctive insignia for the United States Army 397th Infantry Regiment. The DI is a blue, black and silver crest showing mountains and wavy lines above and below.

Circa World War II era.

1" height and 7/8" width.

Plated brass with painted areas.

Vertical safety-style pin.
