ARTIFACT: This is the original, classic Dover Egg Beater from 1870. The beater is fashioned from cast iron and steel and has a wooden handle. The crank wheel is stamped with the beater's patent date. This beater was all the rage when it came out and for a time the act of beating eggs was renamed "dovering eggs" (credit: lonehand.com).

VINTAGE: Circa 1870.

SIZE: Approximately 10" in height and 3" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cast iron, steel and wood.

ATTACHMENT: Crank wheel turns via handle on gears.

MARKINGS: DOVER EGG BEATER PAT'D MAY 31 1870.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The eggbeater has some oxidation but still functions.
