Description
This is a circa 1910s or 1920s Fire Cracker Mortar toy by Kilgore. With a painted cast iron barrel body, three stubby legs and a removable rubber ball top, the toy was designed as a receptacle for a small firecracker. The firecracker would be inserted and lit through the hole near the bottom of the mortar. The ball, which hopefully had already been placed on top, would then blast away! The toy has the old Circle K Kilgore maker's mark on the bottom.
