Description

ARTIFACT:

Circa 1870's - 1880's Cast Iron Burglar Alarm Cannon. This simple device made of cast iron and wood, was set up with a black powder charge and rigged up to go off if an exterior door was opened to awake the persons inside the house and alert them to potential intruders.

Circa 1870's - 1880's

Approximately 10" in length x 3" in height.
