ARTIFACT:

This is a circa World War II United States Navy seaplane sweetheart pin. The pin is in the shape of a civilian aircraft made for Pan American Airways (PAA): the Martin M-130 Flying Boat. Only three M-130s were made, and they were all nicknamed "Clippers".

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 2-3/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Sterling silver.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

STERLING on locking catch.
