Description
This is a Spanish-American War era celluloid pin showing the Cuban flag. The pin was given out as part of tobacco promotion, and was made by Whitehead & Hoag Company of Newark, New Jersey.
VINTAGE:Circa 1898 (Spanish American War era).
SIZE:Approximately 5/8" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Celluloid-wrapped tin, partial paper backing, brass pin.
ATTACHMENT:Straight pin.
MARKINGS:WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK, N.J> on what is left of the paper tag.

CONDITION:6 (Fine+): The badge has some light wear and yellowing and some foxing along the edge; paper backing is mostly missing and there is rusting on the reverse only.
