ARTIFACT: This is a scarce World War II officer's hat badge for the United States power Squadrons. Formed in 1914, the Power Squadrons aimed to educate civilians on maritime recreation and safety. The badge has great ship's wheel in gold bullion embroidery with an enameled USPS flag at its center.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 2-7/8" in height and 2-3/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool embroidered in bullion threads, gilt brass with enamel, cloth backing.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing holding insignia on.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge shows some light wear and tarnish; all enamel is intact. There are some minor tears to the backing
