ARTIFACT:
This is a scarce World War I unit history on the United Air Service, Aircraft Production (A.S.A.P.), 6th Detachment, which was previously the aviation section of the Signal Corps. The book has several handsome sepia photographs of the men of the 6th. The volume is bound in a great embossed leather cover, made to look aged, even in its day. The cover design shows a biplane in flight at its center. A typewritten period poem was found on a separate piece of paper inside the book entitled "The Charge of the Rubber Stamp Brigade".
VINTAGE:
Circa World War I (no publication date listed).
SIZE:
64 pages including sepia photographs; approximately 9" in height and 6-1/4" in width and 5/16" in thickness.

Embossed leather cover, paper.

Glued binding.
